满怀 — mǎnhuái

1. to have one's heart filled with (an emotion); to be full of (feeling)

   我满怀希望地等待考试结果。 wǒ mǎnhuáixīwàng dì děngdài kǎoshì jiéguǒ — I waited for the exam results full of hope.

2. (literary/dated) to collide full on; to meet head-on

   两艘船在浓雾中相向而行，险些满怀相撞。 liǎngsōu chuán zài nóngwù zhōng xiāngxiàng ér xíng xiǎnxiē mǎnhuái xiāngzhuàng — The two ships were heading toward each other in thick fog and nearly collided head-on.

3. (of farm animals) heavy with young; pregnant

   这头母羊满怀，农场主要特别注意护理。 zhè tóu mǔyáng mǎnhuái nóngchǎngzhǔ yào tèbiézhùyì hùlǐ — The ewe is heavy with young; the farmer must pay special attention to care.
