1. slag (in mining or smelting)

   炼钢时会产生大量渣。 liàngāng shíhuì chǎnshēng dàliàng zhā — A large amount of slag is produced when steel is smelted.

2. dregs; residue (e.g. tea leaves, coffee grounds, or other sediment)

   杯底有些茶渣，别喝了。 bēidǐ yǒuxiē cházhā biéhēle — There are some tea dregs at the bottom of the cup; don't drink it.
