渗 — shèn

1. to seep (liquid passing slowly through small openings)

   雨水从屋顶的裂缝渗进来，把天花板弄湿了。 yǔshuǐ cóng wūdǐng de lièfèng shènjìnlái bǎ tiānhuābǎn nòngshī le — Rainwater seeped in through cracks in the roof and wet the ceiling.

2. to ooze (slowly come out, often used for viscous liquids)

   油从切开的管道缝隙里慢慢渗出来。 yóu cóng qièkāi de guǎndào fèngxì lǐ mànmàn shènchūlái — Oil slowly oozed out from the gap in the cut pipe.

3. to horrify; to creep (cause a feeling of chilling fear or creepiness)

   那个画面很渗人，看完后我浑身起了鸡皮疙瘩。 nàge huàmiàn hěn shèn rén kànwán hòu wǒ húnshēn qǐ le jīpígēda — That scene was creepy/horrifying; after watching it I got goosebumps all over.
