深度 — shēndù

1. depth (physical distance from top to bottom; how deep something is)

   池塘的深度只有两米。 chítáng de shēndù zhǐyǒu liǎngmǐ — The pond's depth is only two meters.

2. profundity (of speech, writing, argument — degree of insight or seriousness)

   他的演讲很有深度，引起了听众的思考。 tā de yǎnjiǎng hěn yǒu shēndù yǐnqǐ le tīngzhòng de sīkǎo — His speech had a lot of depth and made the audience think.

3. advanced stage/level of development or intensity (e.g., technical depth, deep processing)

   这项技术已经进入了深度开发阶段。 zhèxiàng jìshù yǐjīng jìnrù le shēndù kāifājiēduàn — This technology has already entered a deep/advanced development stage.
