海绵 — hǎimián

1. sponge (for washing or cleaning; made from natural or synthetic materials)

   厨房里的海绵已经用坏了，要换一个新的。 chúfáng lǐ de hǎimián yǐjīng yònghuài le yào huàn yígè xīn de — The sponge in the kitchen is worn out and needs to be replaced.

2. sea sponge; marine sponge (zoological organism)
