浇 — jiāo

1. to pour (a liquid)

   他把茶浇到杯子里。 tā bǎ chá jiāo dào bēizi lǐ — He poured the tea into the cup.

2. to irrigate (traditionally using a waterwheel)

   老农用水车给田地浇水。 lǎo nóngyòng shuǐchē gěi tiándì jiāoshuǐ — The old farmer irrigates the fields with a waterwheel.

3. to water (plants)

   她每天早上给花园浇水。 tā měitiān zǎoshàng gěi huāyuán jiāoshuǐ — She waters the garden every morning.

4. to cast (pour molten metal)

   工人把熔化的铁水浇进模具里。 gōngrén bǎ rónghuà de tiěshuǐ jiāo jìn mújù lǐ — The worker poured the molten iron into the mold.

5. to mold; to form by pouring a material into a mold

   技术员将在模具中浇注树脂以制成样品。 jìshùyuán jiāng zài mújù zhōng jiāozhù shùzhī yǐ zhìchéng yàngpǐn — The technician will pour resin into the mold to make a sample.
