   他正在学习国际法。 tā zhèngzài xuéxí guójìfǎ — He is studying international law.

2. method; way; technique

   学习语言要找合适的学习方法。 xuéxí yǔyán yào zhǎo héshì de xuéxí fāngfǎ — To learn a language you should find a suitable method.

3. to emulate; to follow (a model)

   儒家主张以圣人为法。 rújiā zhǔzhāng yǐ shèngrén wéi fǎ — Confucians advocated taking sages as models to emulate.

4. (Buddhism) dharma; Buddha's teachings

   他每天念佛经，修习佛法。 tā měitiān niànfó jīng xiūxí fófǎ — He chants sutras every day and practices the Buddhist dharma.

5. abbr. for France; French (as abbreviation in compounds, e.g. 法国)
