正面 — zhèngmiàn

1. front; obverse; the side of something that faces forward

   请把正面朝上放在桌子上。 qǐng bǎ zhèngmiàn cháo shàng fàngzài zhuōzi shàng — Please place the obverse (front) face up on the table.

2. right side (of a person or object)

   孩子坐在车子的正面，父母坐在后面。 háizi zuòzài chēzi de zhèngmiàn fùmǔ zuòzài hòumiàn — The child sits at the front of the cart; the parents sit behind.

3. positive (e.g. aspect, image); constructive

   媒体对公司的正面报道增加了投资者信心。 méitǐ duì gōngsī de zhèngmiàn bàodào zēngjiā le tóuzīzhě xìnxīn — Positive media coverage of the company increased investor confidence.

4. directly; openly; straightforwardly

   你应该正面回应别人的批评，而不是回避。 nǐ yīnggāi zhèngmiàn huíyìng biérén de pīpíng ér búshì huíbì — You should respond directly to others' criticism, not avoid it.
