正经 — zhèngjīng

1. decent; honorable

   他是个正经人，做事很讲原则。 tā shì gè zhèngjīngrén zuòshì hěn jiǎng yuánzé — He is a decent man who acts with principle.

2. proper; according to standards

   这件事要有正经程序来处理，不能随便决定。 zhèjiàn shì yào yǒu zhèngjīng chéngxù lái chǔlǐ bùnéng suíbiàn juédìng — This matter should be handled by the proper procedures, not decided casually.

3. serious (not joking)

   别开玩笑了，我是认真的，你要正经对待这件事。 bié kāiwánxiào le wǒ shì rènzhēn de nǐ yào zhèngjīng duìdài zhèjiàn shì — Don't joke, I'm serious; you should treat this matter seriously.
