正气 — zhèngqì

1. healthy atmosphere; a positive, wholesome public mood

   社区里需要正气，大家互相帮助才能和谐相处。 shèqū lǐ xūyào zhèngqì dàjiā hùxiāngbāngzhù cáinéng héxié xiāngchǔ — The community needs a healthy atmosphere; everyone helping each other makes for harmony.

2. moral spirit; uprightness; ethical firmness

   他的言行充满正气，总是坚持做正确的事。 tā de yánxíng chōngmǎn zhèngqì zǒngshì jiānchí zuò zhèngquè de shì — His words and actions are full of moral spirit; he always insists on doing the right thing.

3. unyielding integrity; strength of character; incorruptibility

   在面对贿赂时，他保持正气，拒绝了所有诱惑。 zài miànduì huìlù shí tā bǎochí zhèngqì jùjué le suǒyǒu yòuhuò — Facing bribery, he maintained his integrity and refused all temptations.

4. probity; honesty and upright conduct

   他以正气著称，大家都尊重他的为人。 tā yǐ zhèngqì zhùchēng dàjiā dōu zūnzhòng tā de wéi rén — He is known for his probity; everyone respects his character.

5. (TCM) vital energy; resistance to disease

   中医认为正气充足可以抵抗外邪，保持健康。 zhōngyī rènwéi zhèngqì chōngzú kěyǐ dǐkàng wàixié bǎochí jiànkāng — TCM holds that abundant vital energy can resist external pathogens and maintain health.
