柜台 — guìtái

1. sales counter; front desk (place where sales or service are handled)

   我在柜台买了车票。 wǒ zài guìtái mǎi le chēpiào — I bought the ticket at the counter.

2. bar (counter where drinks are served)

   他坐在柜台喝咖啡。 tā zuòzài guìtái hēkāfēi — He sat at the bar drinking coffee.

3. over-the-counter (OTC); sold directly at a counter (e.g., medicines, certain financial trades)

   这种药可以柜台购买。 zhèzhǒng yào kěyǐ guìtái gòumǎi — This medicine can be bought over-the-counter.
