   那条河很宽。 nàtiáo hé hěn kuān — That river is very wide.

2. strip; long narrow piece (of cloth, paper, etc.)

   请给我一条布。 qǐng gěi wǒ yītiáo bù — Please give me a strip of cloth.

3. item; article; clause (of a law, treaty, list)

   合同第十条规定了付款方式。 hétóng dìshítiáo guīdìng le fùkuǎn fāngshì — Article 10 of the contract stipulates the payment method.
