   我有些朋友住在北京。 wǒ yǒuxiē péngyǒu zhù zài běijīng — I have some friends living in Beijing.

2. somewhat; rather; a little (modifying adjectives or verbs)

   这个菜有些辣，但很好吃。 zhège cài yǒuxiē là dàn hěn hǎochī — This dish is somewhat spicy, but very tasty.
