晒 — shài

1. (of the sun) to shine on; to bask in (the sun)

   孩子们在院子里晒太阳。 háizi men zài yuànzi lǐ shàitàiyáng — The children are basking in the sun in the yard.

2. to dry (clothes, grain, etc.) in the sun; to sun-dry

   把衣服拿到阳台上晒一会儿就干了。 bǎ yīfú nádào yángtái shàng shài yīhuìer jiù gàn le — Take the clothes out to the balcony to sun-dry for a while and they'll be dry.

3. (fig.) to expose and share (one's experiences and thoughts) on the web; (loan from English “share”)

   她在朋友圈里晒了旅行照片和感想。 tā zài péngyǒu quānlǐ shài le lǚxíng zhàopiān hé gǎnxiǎng — She shared travel photos and thoughts in her Moments (social feed).

4. (colloquial) to give someone the cold shoulder; to snub

   昨天我跟他打招呼，他却晒了我一下。 zuótiān wǒ gēn tā dǎzhāohū tā què shài le wǒ yīxià — Yesterday I greeted him, but he gave me the cold shoulder.
