1. bright; clear (e.g. sky, weather, sound); cheerful and open

   今天天气很明朗，适合出去散步。 jīntiāntiānqì hěn mínglǎng shìhé chūqù sànbù — The weather is very clear today; it's suitable for going for a walk.

2. obvious; clear and straightforward (facts, reasons)

   他的解释很明朗，大家都接受了。 tā de jiěshì hěn mínglǎng dàjiā dōu jiēshòu le — His explanation was clear and obvious; everyone accepted it.

3. forthright; open-minded; bright and cheerful in manner (used for people or disposition)

   她性格开朗、待人明朗，很容易相处。 tā xìnggékāilǎng dàirén mínglǎng hěn róngyì xiāngchǔ — Her personality is open and straightforward; she's easy to get along with.
