整理 — zhěnglǐ

1. to tidy up; to put in order

   先把房间整理一下，然后再出去。 xiān bǎ fángjiān zhěnglǐ yīxià ránhòu zài chūqù — Tidy up the room first, then go out.

2. to sort out; to arrange systematically (papers, files)

   把这些资料整理成电子档，方便检索。 bǎ zhèxiē zīliào zhěnglǐ chéng diànzi dàng fāngbiàn jiǎnsuǒ — Organize these materials into electronic files for easy retrieval.

3. to collate (data); to sort and compile information

   研究人员正在整理问卷数据以便分析。 yánjiū rényuán zhèngzài zhěnglǐ wènjuǎn shùjù yǐbiàn fēnxī — Researchers are collating the survey data for analysis.

4. to pack (luggage); to arrange items neatly for travel
