整治 — zhěngzhì

1. to bring under control; to regulate; to rectify (problems, chaos, behavior)

   政府正在整治城市的乱停乱放现象。 zhèngfǔ zhèngzài zhěngzhì chéngshì de luàn tíng luànfàng xiànxiàng — The government is regulating the city's problems with disorderly parking.

2. to restore to good condition; to repair; to renovate (objects, places)

   他们花了一年时间整治那座老桥。 tāmen huā le yīnián shíjiān zhěngzhì nà zuò lǎo qiáo — They spent a year repairing and restoring the old bridge.

3. (colloquial) to fix (a person); to prepare (a meal) — casual spoken use

   别担心，我来整治你这顿早餐。 bié dānxīn wǒ lái zhěngzhì nǐ zhè dùn zǎocān — Don't worry, I'll fix you up this breakfast.
