攻击 — gōngjī

1. to attack (physically, militarily)

   他们在黑暗中突然遭到了攻击。 tāmen zài hēiàn zhōng tūrán zāodào le gōngjī — They were suddenly attacked in the dark.

2. to accuse; to charge (someone with something)

   检察官指控那名官员滥用职权并攻击受害者的名誉。 jiǎncháguān zhǐkòng nà míng guānyuán lànyòngzhíquán bìng gōngjī shòuhàizhě de míngyù — The prosecutor charged the official with abuse of power and attacking the victim's reputation.

3. an attack (terrorist or military)

   昨天的恐怖攻击造成了大量人员伤亡。 zuótiān de kǒngbù gōngjī zàochéng le dàliàng rényuánshāngwáng — Yesterday's terrorist attack caused many casualties.
