攻克 — gōngkè

1. to capture; to take (by force, usually territory or a fortified position)

   军队经过激烈战斗，终于攻克了敌方要塞。 jūnduì jīngguò jīliè zhàndòu zhōngyú gōngkè le dífāng yàosài — After fierce fighting, the army finally captured the enemy fortress.

2. to overcome (difficulties, obstacles)

   团队齐心协力，最终攻克了技术难题。 tuánduì qíxīnxiélì zuìzhōng gōngkè le jìshùnántí — The team worked together and finally overcame the technical difficulties.

3. to solve (a problem or puzzle)

   我们终于攻克了这个长期困扰项目组的难题。 wǒmen zhōngyú gōngkè le zhège chángqī kùnrǎo xiàngmùzǔ de nántí — We finally solved the long-standing problem that had been troubling the project team.
