攻 — gōng

1. to attack (militarily or verbally); to assault

   敌军发起了猛攻。 díjūn fāqǐ le měnggōng — The enemy launched a fierce attack.

2. to accuse; to charge (someone) with wrongdoing

   他被人攻以贪污的罪名。 tā bèi rén gōng yǐ tānwū de zuìmíng — He was accused of corruption.

3. to study; to work on (a subject or skill) (literary/compound usage)

   他赴海外攻读博士学位。 tā fù hǎiwài gōngdú bóshìxuéwèi — He went abroad to pursue a doctoral degree.

4. (LGBT) top (sexual role)

   他们在聊天室里讨论谁是攻谁是受。 tāmen zài liáotiānshì lǐ tǎolùn shuí shì gōng shuí shì shòu — They were discussing in the chatroom who is the top and who is the bottom.
