改观 — gǎiguān

1. to change one's view; to revise one's point of view

   他听了别人的意见后，观点大为改观。 tā tīng le biérén de yìjiàn hòu guāndiǎn dàwèigǎiguān — After hearing others' opinions, his viewpoint changed greatly.

2. change of appearance; a transformed look or situation

   经过几年开发，这个地区的改观非常明显。 jīngguò jǐnián kāifā zhège dìqū de gǎiguān fēichángmíngxiǎn — After several years of development, the changes in this area are very evident.
