支架 — zhījià

1. support; stand; frame; trestle — a structure used to hold or support something

   施工队把木制支架搭好了，用来支撑脚手板。 shīgōngduì bǎ mùzhì zhījià dāhǎo le yònglái zhīchēng jiǎo shǒubǎn — The construction team set up the wooden supports to hold the planks.

2. (medicine) stent — a small tube or device placed in a vessel or duct to keep it open

   医生给病人的血管放了一个支架，以防止再次堵塞。 yīshēng gěi bìngrén de xuèguǎn fàng le yígè zhījià yǐ fángzhǐ zàicì dǔsè — The doctor placed a stent in the patient's blood vessel to prevent another blockage.

3. to prop up; to support; (figuratively) to withstand or resist

   他用厚木板支架住墙面，防止塌落。 tāyòng hòu mùbǎn zhījià zhù qiángmiàn fángzhǐ tāluò — He propped the wall up with thick boards to prevent collapse.
