1. to support; to sustain; to prop up; to raise/erect

   村民合力支起了临时的帐篷。 cūnmín hélì zhī qǐ le línshí de zhàngpéng — The villagers together propped up a temporary tent.

2. branch; division (of an organization)

   公司在北京有一个技术支部。 gōngsī zài běijīng yǒu yígè jìshù zhībù — The company has a technical branch in Beijing.

3. to draw money (from a fund or bank)

   他去银行支了工资。 tā qù yínháng zhī le gōngzī — He went to the bank to draw his salary.
