1. to clamber up (physically ascend by climbing)

   他沿着岩壁小心地攀升到峰顶。 tā yánzhe yánbì xiǎoxīn dì pānshēng dào fēngdǐng — He carefully clambered up the rock face to the summit.

2. to rise (often of prices, figures, indexes)

   今年房价继续攀升，很多人买不起房。 jīnnián fángjià jìxù pānshēng hěnduō rén mǎibùqǐ fáng — This year housing prices continue to rise; many people cannot afford a home.
