   他被学校撵出了宿舍。 tā bèi xuéxiào niǎnchū le sùshè — He was expelled from the dormitory by the school.

2. (dialect) to chase after; to try to catch up with

   狗拼命撵着那只兔子跑。 gǒu pīnmìng niǎn zhe nà zhǐ tùzi pǎo — The dog frantically chased after that rabbit.
