1. to pair up; to match (items so they go well together)

   这两件衣服搭配得很好。 zhè liǎngjiàn yīfú dāpèi dé hěn hǎo — These two pieces of clothing match very well.

2. to arrange in pairs; to form pairs or teams

   老师把学生搭配成若干小组完成项目。 lǎoshī bǎ xuéshēng dāpèi chéng ruògān xiǎozǔ wánchéng xiàngmù — The teacher paired the students into several groups to complete the project.

3. to add something into a group or mix (to include/insert into a set)

   你可以把这双鞋再搭配一条简约的皮带。 nǐ kěyǐ bǎ zhèshuāng xié zài dāpèi yītiáo jiǎnyuē de pídài — You can add a simple leather belt to match these shoes.
