搭 — dā

1. to put up; to build (scaffolding); to hang (clothes on a pole)

   他把外套搭在椅子背上。 tā bǎ wàitào dā zài yǐzi bèishàng — He draped his coat over the back of the chair.

2. to connect; to join; to arrange in pairs; to match

   请把这两台电脑搭起来共享文件。 qǐng bǎ zhèliǎngtái diànnǎo dā qǐlái gòngxiǎng wénjiàn — Please connect these two computers to share files.

3. to add; to throw in (resources)

   他又搭了一点钱进来帮忙。 tā yòu dā le yìdiǎn qián jìnlái bāngmáng — He threw in a bit more money to help.

4. to take (a boat, train); to get on (transport)

   我们搭的那班船下午三点出发。 wǒmen dā de nà bānchuán xiàwǔ sāndiǎn chūfā — The boat we took departs at 3 PM.
