搬 — bān

1. to move (relocate oneself to a new home or place)

   下个月我们要搬到新的公寓。 xiàgèyuè wǒmen yào bāndào xīn de gōngyù — Next month we will move to a new apartment.

2. to move (something relatively heavy or bulky)

   请帮我把那张桌子搬到窗边。 qǐng bāng wǒ bǎ nà zhāng zhuōzi bāndào chuāng biān — Please help me move that table to the window.

3. to shift (change position or arrangement)

   他把座位搬到教室的后面去了。 tā bǎ zuòwèi bāndào jiàoshì de hòumiàn qù le — He moved his seat to the back of the classroom.

4. to copy indiscriminately; to plagiarize or transplant without modification

   不要把别人的文章原封不动地搬过来，要加上自己的观点。 búyào bǎ biérén de wénzhāng yuánfēngbùdòng dì bān guòlái yào jiāshàng zìjǐ de guāndiǎn — Don't copy someone else's article verbatim; add your own viewpoint.
