揣 — chuāi

1. to put into (one's pocket or clothing); to tuck into

   他把钥匙揣进了口袋。 tā bǎ yàoshi chuāi jìn le kǒudài — He tucked the keys into his pocket.

揣 — chuǎi

1. to estimate; to guess; to figure; to surmise

   我揣不准他几点会到。 wǒ chuāi bùzhǔn tā jǐdiǎn huì dào — I can't really guess what time he'll arrive.

揣 — chuài

1. bound usage: appears only in certain compounds (e.g. 囊揣, 挣揣)

   他独自挣揣，终于走出了困境。 tā dúzì zhèngchuài zhōngyú zǒuchū le kùnjìng — He struggled on his own and finally got out of his predicament.
