提示 — tíshì

1. to point out; to draw attention to something

   老师在黑板上提示了关键公式。 lǎoshī zài hēibǎn shàng tíshì le guānjiàn gōngshì — The teacher pointed out the key formula on the blackboard.

2. to remind (somebody of something)

   请你在会议前提示我一声。 qǐng nǐ zài huìyì qián tíshì wǒ yīshēng — Please remind me before the meeting.

3. to suggest (an idea or way to do something)

   我想提示一个改进流程的办法。 wǒ xiǎng tíshì yígè gǎijìn liúchéng de bànfǎ — I'd like to suggest a way to improve the process.

4. suggestion; tip

   这是一个很有用的提示，大家都受益匪浅。 zhè shì yígè hěn yǒuyòng de tíshì dàjiā dōu shòuyìfěiqiǎn — This is a very useful tip; everyone benefited a lot.

5. reminder; notice

   系统发出提示，告诉你密码即将过期。 xìtǒng fāchū tíshì gàosù nǐ mìmǎ jíjiāng guòqī — The system issued a notice telling you your password is about to expire.
