掺 — shǎn

1. to take hold of; to grasp (dialectal/colloquial)

   他掺住我的手，示意我跟他走。 tā càn zhù wǒ de shǒu shìyì wǒ gēn tā zǒu — He took hold of my hand, signaling me to go with him.
