接着 — jiēzhe

1. to catch and hold on (physically)

   你跳下来，我在下面把你接着。 nǐ tiàoxiàlái wǒ zài xiàmiàn bǎ nǐ jiēzhe — You jump down and I will catch and hold you below.

2. to continue; then; next; subsequently (indicates sequence or continuation)

   他读完第一段，接着讲第二段的内容。 tā dúwán dìyīduàn jiēzhe jiǎng dìèrduàn de nèiróng — He finished reading the first paragraph and then went on to talk about the second.
