1. reception (of a transmitted signal)

   手机在这儿信号差，接收不好。 shǒujī zài zhèér xìnhào chà jiēshōu bùhǎo — The mobile phone has poor signal here; reception is bad.

2. to receive (something sent); to get

   我已经接收到了你的邮件。 wǒ yǐjīng jiēshōu dào le nǐ de yóujiàn — I've already received your email.

3. to accept; to admit (someone or something)

   公司接收了这位新员工的申请。 gōngsī jiēshōu le zhèwèi xīn yuángōng de shēnqǐng — The company accepted this new employee's application.

4. to take over; to expropriate (e.g., take control of a factory)

   政府接收了被废弃的工厂并进行改造。 zhèngfǔ jiēshōu le bèi fèiqì de gōngchǎng bìng jìnxíng gǎizào — The government took over the abandoned factory and renovated it.
