1. to take over (duties, a project, etc.)

   他刚接手这个项目，还在熟悉情况。 tā gāng jiēshǒu zhège xiàngmù hái zài shúxī qíngkuàng — He just took over this project and is still getting familiar with the situation.

2. catcher (in baseball or similar sports)

   球队的接手在最后一局表现出色。 qiúduì de jiēshǒu zài zuìhòu yījú biǎoxiànchūsè — The team's catcher performed excellently in the final inning.
