1. to attend a performance or event in order to show support or cheer on the performers

   为了捧场，很多粉丝都赶去看了首演。 wèile pěngchǎng hěnduō fěnsī dōu gǎnqù kàn le shǒuyǎn — To show support, many fans rushed to see the premiere.

2. to patronize a business (go to a restaurant/shop) to keep it in business or to show support

   大家去他开的咖啡店捧场，希望生意能好起来。 dàjiā qù tā kāi de kāfēidiàn pěngchǎng xīwàng shēngyì néng hǎo qǐlái — Everyone went to his café to patronize it, hoping business would improve.

3. to sing the praises of; to flatter or praise someone publicly (often to support them)

   他在媒体上不断捧场那位新人，很多人觉得有点夸张。 tā zài méitǐ shàng bùduàn pěngchǎng nàwèi xīnrén hěnduō rén juéde yǒudiǎn kuāzhāng — He kept praising that newcomer in the media; many people thought it was a bit excessive.
