2. down payment (initial partial payment toward purchase or rental)

   买车时通常需要付一笔押金作为首付。 mǎichē shí tōngcháng xūyào fù yībǐ yājīn zuòwéi shǒufù — When buying a car you usually need to pay a deposit as a down payment.
