1. congenial; compatible; agreeable (get along well)

   我们两个人很投机，三言两语就谈得来。 wǒmen liǎnggè rén hěn tóujī sānyánliǎngyǔ jiù tándelái — The two of us are very congenial; we hit it off after a few words.

2. to speculate (e.g., on stocks); to seek profit opportunistically; to profiteer

   他靠炒股投机赚了很多钱。 tā kào chǎogǔ tóujī zhuàn le hěnduō qián — He made a lot of money speculating in stocks.
