   士兵向敌方投射手榴弹。 shìbīng xiàng dífāng tóushè shǒuliúdàn — The soldiers threw grenades at the enemy.

2. to cast or project (light, an image, a shadow); to throw (as light)

   路灯在地面上投射长长的影子。 lùdēng zài dìmiàn shàng tóushè chángchángde yǐngzi — The streetlamp casts long shadows on the ground.
