投入 — tóurù

1. to throw into; to put into (physically place something into)

   他把信投入邮箱里。 tā bǎ xìn tóurù yóuxiāng lǐ — He put the letter into the mailbox.

2. to throw oneself into; to take part in; to engage actively in an activity

   为了完成项目，他全身心投入工作。 wèile wánchéng xiàngmù tā quánshēnxīn tóurù gōngzuò — To finish the project, he threw himself into the work completely.

3. to invest in (money, resources); to put funds or resources into something

   公司决定投入更多资金进行研发。 gōngsī juédìng tóurù gèngduō zījīn jìnxíng yánfā — The company decided to invest more funds in R&D.

4. absorbed; engrossed (deeply involved mentally or emotionally)

   她看书时很投入，什么也听不见。 tā kànshū shí hěn tóurù shénme yě tīngbújiàn — She is so absorbed in reading that she hears nothing.
