抄袭 — chāoxí

1. to plagiarize; to copy (someone else's work)

   学生被发现抄袭论文，学校将给予处分。 xuéshēng bèi fāxiàn chāoxí lùnwén xuéxiào jiāng jǐyǔ chǔfèn — The student was discovered plagiarizing the paper; the school will impose sanctions.

2. to attack the flank or rear of an enemy (military term)

   指挥官命令部队从侧面抄袭敌军，争取出其不意。 zhǐhuīguān mìnglìng bùduì cóng cèmiàn chāoxí díjūn zhēngqǔ chūqíbùyì — The commander ordered the troops to attack the enemy from the flank to catch them by surprise.
