打断 — dǎduàn

1. to interrupt (someone who is speaking)

   请别在我讲话的时候打断我。 qǐng bié zài wǒ jiǎnghuà de shíhòu dǎduàn wǒ — Please don't interrupt me while I'm speaking.

2. to break off (an activity, conversation, or process); to stop abruptly

   会议被一通电话打断了，大家回去继续工作。 huìyì bèi yí tòngdiànhuà dǎduàn le dàjiā huíqù jìxù gōngzuò — The meeting was broken off by a phone call; everyone went back to continue working.

3. to break (a bone)

   他摔倒时把胳膊打断了，正在医院治疗。 tā shuāidǎo shí bǎ gēbó dǎduàn le zhèngzài yīyuàn zhìliáo — He broke his arm when he fell and is being treated in the hospital.
