   他为人慢性，不容易生气。 tā wéi rén mànxìng bùróng yì shēngqì — He is slow-tempered and doesn't get angry easily.

3. slow to take effect (e.g. a slow-acting poison or remedy)

   这种药是慢性起效，需连续服用几周才能见效。 zhèzhǒng yào shì mànxìng qǐxiào xū liánxù fúyòng jǐzhōu cáinéng jiànxiào — This medicine acts slowly; you need to take it for several weeks before it works.
