1. suspense in a movie, play, story, etc.; an unresolved question that keeps the audience wondering

   这部电影的结尾留下了很大的悬念，大家都等着下一部。 zhèbù diànyǐng de jiéwěi liúxià le hěndà de xuánniàn dàjiā dōu děng zhe xià yībù — The ending of this movie left a lot of suspense; everyone is waiting for the next installment.

2. concern or worry about someone's wellbeing; anxious care for someone

   听说他生病了，大家都很悬念，想去探望。 tīngshuō tā shēngbìng le dàjiā dōu hěn xuánniàn xiǎngqù tànwàng — Hearing that he was ill, everyone was worried about him and wanted to visit.
