悄悄 — qiāoqiāo

1. quietly; making little or no noise

   他悄悄地走进房间，生怕吵醒大家。 tā qiāoqiāodì zǒujìn fángjiān shēngpà chǎoxǐng dàjiā — He tiptoed into the room, afraid of waking everyone.

2. surreptitiously; stealthily; secretly

   他悄悄把礼物放在桌子下面，不让孩子们看到。 tā qiāoqiāo bǎ lǐwù fàngzài zhuōzi xiàmiàn bùràng háizi men kàndào — He secretly put the gift under the table so the children wouldn't see.

3. anxiously; worriedly (used to describe someone acting reserved because of concern)

   他悄悄看了看钟，心里有些着急。 tā qiāoqiāo kàn le kàn zhōng xīnlǐ yǒuxiē zháojí — He glanced at the clock anxiously; he felt a bit worried.
