2. to pay (expenses); to cover costs

   公司会负责员工出差的开销。 gōngsī huì fùzé yuángōng chūchāi de kāixiāo — The company will cover employees' travel expenses.

3. (archaic) to dismiss (an employee)

   老板因他屡次失误把他开销了。 lǎobǎn yīn tā lǚcì shīwù bǎ tā kāixiāo le — The boss dismissed him for his repeated mistakes.
