开心 — kāixīn

1. happy; in high spirits

   他听到好消息，马上很开心。 tā tīngdào hǎoxiāoxī mǎshàng hěn kāixīn — He heard the good news and immediately felt very happy.

2. to rejoice; to be glad

   全村的人为丰收而开心起来。 quáncūn de rénwéi fēngshōu ér kāixīnqǐlái — The whole village rejoiced at the abundant harvest.

3. to have a great time; to enjoy oneself

   我们在海边玩得很开心。 wǒmen zài hǎibiān wán dé hěn kāixīn — We had a great time playing at the seaside.

4. to make fun of someone; to tease (colloquial)

   别拿他的口音开心他，他会介意的。 bié ná tā de kǒuyīn kāixīn tā tā huì jièyì de — Don't make fun of his accent; he'll mind.
