1. to hold a meeting; to convene people for a meeting

   公司今天下午三点要开会，大家别迟到。 gōngsī jīntiānxiàwǔ sāndiǎn yào kāihuì dàjiā bié chídào — The company is holding a meeting at 3 PM today; everyone, don't be late.

2. to attend a meeting

   我明天上午有课，不能开会。 wǒ míngtiān shàngwǔ yǒu kè bùnéng kāihuì — I have class tomorrow morning and can't attend the meeting.
