1. to screen; to block (something or somebody); to shield

   他们用屏蔽设备阻止了信号。 tāmen yòng píngbì shèbèi zǔzhǐ le xìnhào — They used shielding equipment to block the signal.

2. (protective) shield

   防护屏蔽可以保护电子设备免受干扰。 fánghù píngbì kěyǐ bǎohù diànzishèbèi miǎnshòu gānrǎo — A protective shield can protect electronic devices from interference.
