尽 — jǐn

1. to the greatest extent; as much as possible

   尽量早点来。 jǐnliàng zǎodiǎn lái — Try to come as early as possible.

2. (used before a noun of location) furthest; extreme

   车子开到了尽头。 chēzi kāidào le jìntóu — The car drove to the farthest end.

3. to be within the limits of; to allow; to give priority to

   在他能力范围之内尽可以尝试。 zài tā nénglì fànwéi zhīnèi jǐn kěyǐ chángshì — Within his capability limits he can certainly try.

尽 — jìn

1. to use up; to exhaust; to finish; to end

   冰箱里的苹果全尽了，我们去买一些吧。 bīngxiāng lǐ de píngguǒ quán jǐn le wǒmen qù mǎi yīxiē ba — The apples in the fridge are all gone; let's go buy some.

2. to the utmost; completely; entirely; to the limit

   我尽支持你的决定。 wǒ jǐn zhīchí nǐ de juédìng — I fully support your decision.
