1. to close; to seal off; to close down (an illegal venue)

   警方封闭了事发路段进行调查。 jǐngfāng fēngbì liǎoshì fā lùduàn jìnxíng diàochá — The police sealed off the section of road where the incident occurred to investigate.

2. closed; isolated (i.e., isolated from outside input)

   他的思想比较封闭，不太接受新观点。 tā de sīxiǎng bǐjiào fēngbì bù tài jiēshòu xīn guāndiǎn — His thinking is rather closed; he doesn't readily accept new ideas.
